In the third post of our DataVizards series, we’re going to take a look at an infographic production service company from Croatia, called InfographicBox.
What are infographics?
The word itself is a clipped compound of ’information’ and ’graphics’. According to Wikipedia: „infographics are a visual representation of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly.”
Its rising popularity may be due to the fact that infographics combine just the right amount of image, number, colour and content. As the majority of people absorb information better when it’s presented in a visual manner, they allow businesses to communicate complex information in an easy-to-digest and convenient way.
What do we like about InfographicBox?
The company is „a specialized infographic production service that encompasses the entire visual content creation process – from analysis and strategy to writing and research to design, visualization, and promotion.” They have a solid team of eight people constantly working on infographics, presentations, reports, interactive visuals, motion graphics and social media content.
They also seem truly enthusiastic and passionate about what they do. As the founder, Boris Benko said: „The way I see it, the world is a playground, and we are just a bunch of geeks lucky to get paid for something we enjoy doing.” Besides working on commercial projects for their clients, they have a bunch of ’pet projects’ – works they create for pure pleasure. I have gone through their portfolio and would like to show you some of my personal favourites.
Men’s underwear trends
If you ever wondered what factors men consider when choosing their underwear or what the most popular colours are, this viz is for you.
Creepy little girls
We all know that little girls in horror movies can be frightening as hell. But which ones are the scariest? Search no more, these guys have rated them based on three factors: fear factor, cruelty and aftertaste.
A really engaging timeline of Frank Sinatra’s life and work by numbers, created for his 100th anniversary.
I think I really liked their visuals, because the topics covered are quite unique while the design is simple and attractive. They also discuss serious issues, such as global warming or cyber crimes in an easy-to-digest way. Make sure you check their portfolio!
We will continue our DataVizards series. If you know anyone around Hungary whose dataviz work you adore, please let us know in the comments!
